2.75" Wooden Magnetic Chess Pieces in Sheesham & Boxwood

These are the pieces from our 14" folding magnetic set (KS001), offered on their own for players who already have a board or are building one.

Magnetic chess pieces are usually molded plastic, so a carved hardwood option is worth seeking out. Turned from Sheesham and Boxwood with the grain visible through each piece, they carry the weight you expect from real wood instead of the hollow feel of a plastic travel set. Two extra queens are included for promotions.

The magnets are strong enough to hold position through a bumpy car ride, an airplane tray table, or a board that gets bumped mid-game. Worth knowing before you order: magnetic pieces need a board with a ferrous layer inside to grip. Our folding boards have this built in, but most standard wooden and vinyl boards do not, and on those surfaces these will behave like ordinary pieces. With a 1" base, they suit 1.5" squares, matching the board in KS001.
